The first African American to have made it and created history by being president of the (supposedly) most powerful nation in the whole world. And I say it with a lump in my throat and many tiny bumps reverberating in my heart even though I have not a single drop of American blood in me. Obama defeated John McCain in a landslide victory and going on to secure 338 votes instead of the minimum 270 votes. It was not a close call at all! Obama also won Ohio hours ago, a state where in modern times, it was unheard of for a Republican to win the White House without having conquered it.
